A Type of Server Worth Trying
 

Cyclical permadeath server with faster exp rate.

Ruleset

• FFA PvP, no level restrictions
• Mobs with kindly/warmly faction assist - this allows people refuge in cities if they get some faction
• Permadeath with limited lives - 5 - after 5 you reset level 1 - only keep your factions. Your corpse is lootable by your killer then anyone after 3 minutes. Just like the Discord Server back in the day on EQ.
• 2 month cycles, first cycle just classic, 2nd cycle with kunark, 3rd cycle with velious. 6 months, you getta play each era twice a year.
• Server is WIPED CLEAN after every cycle. This allows for Devs to tweak things instead of trying to prop up a box that has been exploited.
• Cheaters/exploiters are GM killed meaning reset level 1

Simple and interesting. Enough time, with faster exp to get stuff done, get loots, go on raids etc. Short enough if you get reset or whatever you can chill in vent the last few weeks and cheer your pals on. As far as time goes, something between Crucified and Red99 is what we need; but with major consequences to keep it interesting.

Too many tears have been shed over exploits and imbalances. We need more tears of people QQ because of death. Someone try this server kthx. PM if you need a clean-whistle-GM

Very, very few people would play on a server like that. FFA rangeless PvP with permadeath? 2-month eras, wipe every 6 months? Are you serious?

When I was going to do the last Crucify it was going to be wiped every 30 days... with everyone's stats posted at the end.

Here's the server I'd like to see:

Permaban all cheaters/hackers and post banned account/character names. Account gone. IP address banned. No warnings, no 2nd chances, no bullshit.

No IP exemptions at all. If your wife/kid/dad wants to play too, get a 2nd IP address from your ISP. This would stop most boxing.

Progressive server based on real EQ (kunark opens up a year after server starts). But with exploit fixes in place already.

How about a server just like Red99, but with the vah shir (on kerra isle) and froglok (rathe mountains?) races. Plus beastlords and berserkers. I'd delete and remake my character so fast if they introduced frogloks.. *sigh*
