Greedy Merchants lie about selling costs, crash client
 

Please delete this thread. I cannot replicate the issue. It appears to have been a one-time thing.





I believe that this update, applied on Dec 18, has some issues in regards to buying from the merchant. I don't know if it's all items for sale, or if it only affects items in the merchant's Temp Item list.

But here is the scenario that I have encountered:

Tubal Weaver, a merchant that can be found just inside the gates of Qeynos, he has the worst prices I've ever seen, despite his claim to the best.

He only pays the player 5 gold for a cracked staff, which fits along the lines of the “greedy merchant”.

However, looking at what he has for sale, he claims to sell Cracked Staffs for only 5 gold.
So when I click “Buy” for 5 gold, as it states in the trade window and text, my EQ client just crashes/vanishes.

1 more note - this was encountered on Red 99, not blue.

...Well that could be the problem. WC caps are supposed to cost about 100 plat from a vendor. Perhaps something is halving the costs of items as well as the price that they sell at?
edit: oh I just saw the increased cap cost (186 plat) more lower down.
edit2: also I'd take out the not-so-nice parts of your logs if I were you.
