EQMAC server is being shut down

They announced that they are closing the server. We have an active population of around 200 or so people with no where to go. One of the devs might want to make a post on www.eqmac.com to try to galvanize the player base over there. It is not affiliated with SOE at all but is the only website we have and use on that server.

It would also be helpful to know if P99 is able to be ran on a mac and if so, a detailed step by step instruction sticky would be amazing and encourage us to come over.

I am the best player on the server and will be on P99 if i choose to play here. I just need to know if i can somehow get this to run on my mac.

This server is fantastic and runnable with a Mac, although I don't know exactly how.

Since your already a part of the community go back and tell the rest for us!

This thread should help you: http://www.project1999.org/forums/sh...ad.php?t=56238

I hope you guys can convince more Eqmac players to switch over, it would be great for us and also for you guys since it would mean you'd all get to play together again

This is a sad day for the Al'kabor server. Just looking at the eqmac forums, all players are coming out of the woodwork, very upset at the shut down happening March 29th. So much hard work put into characters and everythings just being erased.

Potime has not even been accessed yet. The gm may 'unlock' zones, leading to a possible server wide quarm kill?! Who knows.

He doesn't want a community anymore, I suppose. Fuck him.

My impression is that he communicates with Sony and so I imagine he's still clinging to the idea that they might change their mind. Because of this I doubt he'd allow people to freely talk about p99 on his forums. I'm sure he wouldn't care if you talked about p99 AFTER eqmac was shut down though :p

You do realize that board is where SOE (until today's announcement) communicates with them, right? They troll those boards daily. Talk of switching to what they consider an illegal server doesn't bode well for them trying to save the server.

Yeah, the idea that SOE didn't expect us to be pissed or that we can somehow protest and change their mind is ludicrous but so are lots of player on al kabor.

Its a simple business decision and they have a long history of doing shit like this. Its going to shut down.....

LOL you guys are cracking me up, making names like project1999 and saying you dont care if you get banned. Bravo friends.

MelxDruid 01-31-2012 01:53 AM
