ATTN: Red Box Neckbeard Veterans (melee pvp questions for YOU)
 

Hail Norrathian Neckbeards.

As you may have heard already, I'm playing on this box once again to help drive off the poopsocking bluebies and compete with [whatever guild Xantille is in].

I am, of course, going to be playing a melee class (Monk, War, or SK) even though the resist system seems like it's going to fuck me directly in the ass since it hands out roots and snares like free candy.

That brings me to my list of questions for you all who have actually been playing for a while:

1.) Are Monks completely fucking worthless in PvP + easily rooted even when wearing flat resist gear? (Note that FD training does not count as PvP)

2.) Are Warriors better? Does the ogre stun immunity work on this box?

3.) SKs? (I'm assuming they are the strongest)

4.) Starting stats? I've heard that DEX actually affects hit rate here? (not classic, btw)

Frontal stun immunity does work for ogres, but you can still get interrupted by being pushed (which is classic).

Bash's interrupt your casting as a Ogre Shaman.

NPCs bash on first round. You will get stunned the message after "Bashes you"

Not from the front...

Melee is an investment till Kunark. Go monk. Go all dex. Profit when kunark hits. Until then, just train fear like old Heresy TZT days.

i can't see you playing anything other than a melee searyx.. monks are pretty weak atm, even in dungeons i have no trouble killing one with the way root and shit lands. they are decent dps but still they are kinda gimped until kunark. being able to fd is always fun tho, i think you should go sk if you can deal with a little slower leveling (still fast compared to what i had to go through lol).

Yes, from the front, ogres do infact get stunned on this server
