Trakanon Abomination
 

A friend, who stuck with live a lot longer than I did, brought it to my attention that SoF expansion let you go back in time and face a lot of the old dragons. He mentioned that this included visiting a field of bones zone which was occupied by Trakanon. This Trak was the live version, and you had to help him rather than kill him. Some of the lore to it is actually interesting so I decided to look it up.

That's when I saw this:

Are you kidding me? That could barely pass for an update to Lady Nev, at best. Apparently they didn't have any dev staff at the time or something, but what a joke. Compare that model to the real Trak:

Which still looks awesome to this day. Their latest "Trakanon" is almost as sad as the Luclin player models. Even Everquest 2 model creators had a clue what Trakanon even looked like. Too bad their animations for him look like something they could have done with 10 pixels on Atari.

It was before Trakanon got sick.

SoD was a pretty lame expansion imo. I liked the sound of it, since I'm nostalgic. It had a lot of classic zones like FoB, The Commonlands, Kithikor, but they were a whole 'nother world.

So true, it had so much potential, but in the end it was just a soulless, paint by numbers attempt at letting people play the historic events of EQ's history.

There's like 20 things wrong with that image. Go back to that joke server imo.
