If you could add two conveniences/features to Project 1999, they would be...
Personally, having been spoilt with the ultra-convenient WoW (and having seen features for convenience being implemented over the course of 7 years), there are some things that I take for granted in an MMO today. The lack of convenience doesn't necessarily make a game tougher or more "hardcore", since it can be applied to aspects of the game that doesn't directly influence the game play.
There are a lot of things taken from modern MMOs that I'd want to put in P1999 while still retaining the classic EQ feel, but narrowing it down to two, I'd pick: - Mailing items/money between characters (and also between your own characters). - Increased clip plane (to match Skyrim's perhaps :)) How about the rest of you? |
- I would love mailboxes!
- Team-based red server! Improving the clip plane would be fine, but I think vision needs to get a lot darker to match classic, and the "fog" in most zones needs to stay - think GFAY - no maps, dark as shit, gettin' lost with an orc cent beating on you - that is classic EQ! |
I agree that fog in certain zones is great, but open areas like The Overthere would look awesome if you could see from wall to wall!

Shared bank slots is the ONLY thing I can think of that I would like to see added.
Edit - ohhh, conveniences OR features. Well then shared bank + darker. |
