Charm Guard Issue

I'm not 100% sure what causes this but when I tell my charmed pet to guard it occasionally will walk back to its original spawn point as opposed to staying where I tell it to guard.

I have been randomly trained in Sebilis a few times after my pet disappeared and I couldn't figure out why, until the other night I finally saw it start walking back towards it's spawn. This only seems to be an issue with guard, and it doesn't happen all that often (maybe once per hour or so).

What mob did this happen with?

It has happened with all of the Froglok Knights (Zol, Dar, Bok) I have charmed in Sebilis, and they have been from different locations.

Is it when you're setting it to guard? After the pet finishes killing a mob? Any idea if it matters if pet is a static or pather?

It doesn't happen very often and I haven't figured out exactly what triggers it, it doesn't do it every time it's told to guard or when it kills a mob while guarding. I always charm static, non patrolling mobs. Next time I am charming I will mess around with it more and if I find out what triggers it I will post asap.

I have noticed this happening again at 2:00AM CST July 29th. It occurred with a Zol Knight near the disco camp, set to guard in place. My group wiped to a 15-mob train outta nowhere. I began to tinkle my pants a little when I told it to attack an INC mob and looked for my pet, but did not see it =(

I apologize for bumping such an old trhead but have this issue been ever resolved ?

Because I got trained in the crypt the other day ...

I read about this bug here and never /guard the pet for the whole session (about 6 hours) and everything went smooth.
I was with a buddy chanter who did /guard but nothing happened too.

Than from nowhere, i moved from Hiero room (mob just dead) to Yosig room and /pet attack the ph (pet was in costant /follow) .... but my pet wasn't there.
I came out of the room, found a living (!!) dar knight on the stairs of the crypt(s) .... and short after my pet was dead and i've been summoned from the Lammy golem out of the crypt.

The pet was one of the (static) krups just outside the crypt.

it happens in sebilis sometimes when your pet is set to guard after it kills a mob. it will start to move back to its spawn point rather than its guard point, and only the pet follow command will stop it. specifically at the NG camp it happens a lot

I know that telling pets to sit, or having a player taunt a charmed pet, will cause them to do silly stuff sometimes. Sitting after guarding makes them stop guarding after something makes them stand back up (getting hit). Don't remember exactly what, but taunts on a charmed mob either make it stand up from sitting or make it stop guarding or something like that.

Yeah, I get this happening in HS or seb no matter what camp I'm at or what mob I'm charming, it seems. I basically never use guard anymore because I eventually forget to have him follow momentarily after a fight and then they wander off through a wall and get me trained :(
