Anyone else miss the golden days of P99?

Fishbait turning into DA
DA competition with IB
IB winning at first
Then DA comming back with some strong competition to take the lead
IB merges to make a great raid force and takes the lead
DA turns into Ascension and tries to compete

Those days were awesome.

Yeah, no twinks roaming the EC tunnel...the notion of a level playing field, plenty of spread across levels between 1-50 (not just a top heavy server). Good times they were.

Server is still fun, you would know that if you actually played instead of posting once a month to bitch about Velious.

Remember when Rinna Lightshadow used to rage in the tunnel daily and the corpses in the tunnel outnumbered the players standing there.

This is an MMO maxim. The forums never reflect the reality of playing. That's how it's been in my MMO career; so it's a maxim for me at least.

I used to remember in early live getting so disgusted with EQ. One day it dawned on me that I didn't have bad experiences in game more than a bad CR or losing XP... it was the negativity on the forums. And I mean official forums where posters may engage staff.

I simply didn't go to game forums after that for a long time. When I returned, I made sure to take the horrible state of the community, economy, whatever with a grain of salt.

On second thought, I think you came here late because it had already gone down hill with insane nerds treating this like they're a sweat shop manager, at the time line you're mentioning.

When it was about 120~ population and pure classic, no sol ro, no planes. Oh yes. I just got off a bit I think.

We get a new server and I'll play on it. I would like to see it modded a bit, but p99 has been a lot of fun. It will be more fun after Dec 23rd when this MA is done and I have free time again.
