Favorite Holiday Tradition
I'm in a Christmasy Mood. Back on Rodcet Nife I used to run an event where I'd have farmed some things and hand away those items right around this time of year. I am brand new to P99 so I can't'offer the same this year, however Next year I'll be doing exactly that. This was one of my holiday traditions I developed on my own, and have many family ones in which I partake and cherish.
So this thread really is about holiday traditions you have created yourselves, or have been a part of that you really enjoyed. Something that you would think others would love to implement etc.. My favorite is Noche Buena (Christmas Eve party literally translates to "Good Night") with my mother's side of the family. 80 people all together, eating, talking, laughing, drinking. All the little kids huddled by the windows looking out insisting to each other that they, "just saw the red nose flying across the sky" Then after dinner/desert Santa would show up. Santa had very heavy accents that changed from year to year, but the heart was always the same, and everyone young and old sat on Santa's lap and got a present, usually with one new mother getting a kiss from this Santa. Santa would be off, and afterwards all the little old aunts would give the kids presents. Everyone would drive home and hopefully have worn their kids out with visions of sugar plums (or in this case flan and pasteles de guayaba) dancing through their heads. Merry Christmas a bit early to all. Mikulis |
On this server, I liked when Santa (a human monk with a red robe and red hair) showed up in the EC tunnel the first winter I played. He made all the newbies form a line and tell him what class they were and what they wanted for Christmas and gave them all a magic piece of armor or a weapon based on their class. The line went from the tunnel entrance all the way to the grass! I got a Azure Sleeves, and I remember the Enchantress in front of me got a Nobles Robe!

My favorite part of Christmas is when it is over. 3 weekends in a row where I have to go to a family Christmas party. And before that 2 weekends in a row with a birthday party. And before that 3 thanksgiving family things to go to. Mix in Christmas shopping during the week. I actually look forward to going to work from Thanksgiving to New Years.
