Summoned: Heatstone not equipable in AMMO

ZAM: http://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?item=16991

the lvl 16 summoned heatstone can't be equipped in the AMMO slot like the Summoned: Coldstone can on P99

The wiki also states that it can go in AMMO: http://wiki.project1999.org/Summoned:_Heatstone

This probably needs more Classic evidence.

The only post about "back in the day" I see on Allakhazam: http://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/i...03704186730586

Does it seriously need any more evidence? Seems pretty clear cut to me.

According to the Magelo database it's equipable in the ammo slot as well

Usenet post from October 1999 that Heatstone was usable in ammo slot:

The best light source I have found so far is Infravision. I'm a human mage,
when I got the spell at level 16 all my night time problems went away. Ask
a mage lvl 16 or higher to summon a heatstone for you. Put this in your ammo
slot
and sometimes you won't even know that it is night time.
It's a summoned item so it will disappear when you camp. I normally give them away to humans that I find. A Greater Lightstone
doesn't compare to
infravision.

Coldstone has a post from September 1999:

Ask a Magician to summon a coldstone for you. Put it into the Ammo slot and
you will have ultravision. Put it back to bank ( inside a container ) before
logout and you still have it next time you login.

Coldstones are already equippable in the ammo slot it's the heatstone that is excluded for some reason. Thanks for the extra evidence Dolalin

These Heatstone and Coldstone were changed in July 1999. They used to have 1 clicky charge of Serpent Sight and Ultravision each. They became wearable after this point:

- The Magician's Summon Heatstone and Summon Coldstone spells will now work as long as the Stone is held or worn (the spell effect will never wear off).

This is pretty good. It lets you summon a stone that may be "drank" to
provide Serpent Sight. Very handy.
Coldstone is the next one, which provides
Ultravision, as opposed to Infravision.

I'm not a magician, but my partner is. Good luck.

They help a lot, but I can't wait for him to get the coldstone

Oh, so Heatstones wear off with time? Bummer.
