Faction with Ashen Order
 

I think either faction for freeport monk guild, the Ashen Order, or perhaps faction in general for iksar is broken on this server. I've killed over 1400 orcs in east commonlands, equating to over 1400 faction hits with Ashen Order, and my faction still says Scowling.

Ashen Order is the monk guild in freeport. Being an iksar monk, I knew this faction would take a while to do. I used this faction guide from back in the day as a reference for how many faction hits I would need. According to this guide from back then, it took 628 gnolls to get to dubious with monks in Qeynos. This number was not true for orcs, so I suspected it may have been written after the patch that reduced faction requirements.

I then consulted the Project 1999 wiki's faction guide. According to it, I would need between 1300 and 1400 faction hits to get to threatening, assuming I started at maximum scowling. As I said, I've received over 1400 faction hits (I kept track with /log and a parser). I still don't have threatening faction with Ashen Order.

At this point, two guides and three sets of numbers from two sources have failed to yield results, so I suspect one of three possibilities:

• The server has higher requirements for faction, in which case the numbers are probably much higher than live
• The Ashen Order faction is bugged
• Iksar faction gains are bugged

I've been checking faction by acquiring invisibility, going into Freeport and targeting Velan Torresk, then exiting gates and breaking invis to con. The exact number of faction hits I've received should be 1424, give or take a few.

That archive link is from a 2003 capture, so it's probably Velious or Luclin era.

The Wiki has post-Velious information (which is probably wrong for our current progression).

For some odd reason, the west Freeport monks are on Silent Fist Clan faction instead of Ashen Order.

Switching them to Ashen Order now.

After the next patch you should find that these monks now recognize your good deeds.

One last thing, how often is the server patched? How long should I expect to wait to see the results of this change? I apologize because I know this is a novice question.

So this is fixed, right? Because I have been slaughtering nothing but Orcs in the commonlands for a very long time and I am still threateningly to Ashen Order in WFP.

Orcs in commons do give +AshenOrder. So it's working yeah.
