I have to say, I'm thoroughly enjoying this show.
Despite it's Battlestar Galactica-ness, it feels somewhat unique. I think the characters are pretty well-written, though I think a few of them could use some more depth. Eli (or however you spell it) is one of my favourite characters, he's shown a lot of growth from the first episode.
I also like how Rush is sometimes good sometimes questionable. Is he in it for himself, or is he just the type that can look at things "for the greater good?" I'm pretty certain it's the latter, but it's hard to say with certainty.
Telford... well... don't wanna spoil, I'll just say I expect he'll change sides again.
I kinda hope the two parties involved end up meshing somehow. It would make for an interesting dynamic to the already disparate crew of Destiny. And that wasn't a typo of desperate. As in, the military vs civilian thing that was already showing up now and then.
I'd like to see Destiny take on more of a "life" of its own, as well. I like the idea that it knows what it needs and where to get it, and I thought that was an interesting part in the first batch of episodes. Lately it's taken a back seat, though. I kinda hoped it had been responsible for... the thing in the last episode... with the zap and the poof.
As long as it stays at this calibre of writing, I think this could turn out to be a very good series in the long run. Let's just hope it doesn't decline into constant dealings with the same enemies over and over. That's what made SG1 and Atlantis get stale for me for the longest time. Oh, what are those whacky Goa'uld / Wraith up to this week?
