Having Live and EMU installed at the same time. How?

I'm new to EQEMU. When I installed and set everything up for P99, I had been a way from EQ for a while and didn't have it installed. With the upcoming merges on Live, I need to reactivate my accounts and make sure my mules and everything don't poof, etc.

How do I have an install of live and an install of this on the same box at the same time?

I was thinking I would just move the entire (modified for EQEMU) EverQuest directory out of the "Sony" folder on my C drive into a new directory and then create a new desktop shortcut for it. Then install live as normal.

Would that keep everything functional and free of conflicts with Live? If not, how do I do this?

Yep, make sure they are in different directories.

For an oldschool feel you could install eqemu into C:/program files/everquest.

So yeah, I'd suggest different directories, and that you have your shortcuts made for each of them.

Just put all of the Project 1999 files in their own directory. On my machine, I used to have c:\p1999. Everything was in there. (now its on a flashdrive on my keychain, but that's another story :D )

If you want Live too, just install that to some different directory (i.e. c:\program files\sony\everquest - or wherever, as long as it is NOT the same place as Project 1999).

Your shortcuts for each game will have to be different as well. As long as you think of them as two completely different games (heh, which they are) you'll be fine.

EDIT - Bah, nilbog beat me by one minute, and with a clearer explanation too.

Awesome, thank you. I thought as much, but just wanted to confirm.

It's funny you mention this...
