And Enchanters have single target charm/mez that lasts more than 3 ticks, AOE stun, AOE mez. Give that to bards and then there's a decent argument for taking away plate.

Bard's have plate because they NEED it in this game. They are punching bags when trying to CC/charm/pull in groups especially in tight areas. Play a bard to high levels and you will understand...
