I have done some searching around, but don't see anything specific to this issue. Please point me to any additional resources if you can.
I am on a satellite internet connection, so I have come to expect some issues with latency and connecting to the system. I have done some optimizations on my router to forward ports for EQ, etc that works most of the time. However, I have come across an issue where on my computer, I cannot login to the game using my main character, but I can login with an alt. That leads me to believe its not a network problem.
I have reinstalled the game, I have reset the UI file a few times with no luck. If I go to another location with a better network connection, I have been able to login to my main character and zone to a new location. I can then come back home and I was able to login to my main character and continue to play and zone around. Eventually I guess the issue reoccured as I zoned to a new location (greater faydark) and my char LD and I have not been able to log back in. I have an alt character in that same zone, and I was able to login to that alt character (as well as alts in other zones).
