It's an illness by definition (GID is still in the DSM V), sure, and i'd rather keep it there honestly, as some insurance will cover hormones due to it being in the DSM-V. I'd rather hormones/SRS be free to all someday. That being said, just because someone's mentally ill doesn't mean you should shun them from society, same can be said about people with high-functioning autism. Einstein was thought to be autistic and he did just fine.

True story. Most t peeps will flip the fuck out when you call them ill and show it to them on paper. I dont think its a trend either, maybe because of the gay stuff going on in the past 10~ years people are being more open about it and deciding to transition.
