Well, actually SCA isn't guilty of being scripted or stage fighting (although I believe they do stage fighting as a pass-time between "battles") what they are guilty of is a bunch of morbidly obese dudes that think they are medieval warriors.

Apparently you don't realize how much strength and stamina you have to have to wear full suits of plate armor while you try to beat your opponent down and protect your self.
