There are plenty of people leveling, any class should do just fine.
I have noticed that some people tend to shy away from inviting classes with high xp penalties, but in the end a group will take what they can get.
There are also a ton of helpful people out there. New players tend to get a lot of help in the form of low amounts of plat, lowbie gear and buffs pretty often.
