I had this same problem when I came to red, how did I solve it?

1: Only buy essential spells
2: Kill anything with a weapon, they are worth a few g usually!
3: Kill any decaying skellies you see, 1-2 hit kills and can drop cloth armor/weapons, once again a few g.
4: On blue you can farm bone chips, HQ bear pelts, and spider(ling) silk to sell to players, on red not so much.

5: I'd be glad to help buy your spells for your first few lvls just send Stembolt a tell in a few hours when I'm online.
Most donations I get from porting I give back out to new players.

people camping guards 24/7 in MT on blue. tell them you will sell their spears for 20pp per run or less. or loot the shield cuz they always rot (1pp ea.) MT always has people in and out, too easy man.

Seconded. You can make a lot doing errands and other stuff for high lvl players, think of a service and advertise it!
