My experiences have been that my necro can solo better in some cases and in others, my enchanter can. The great thing about the enchanter (as you had observed) is that with lull + mez etc. an enchanter can solo in areas which would be suicide for a mage or necro. I can run around in SolA with my enchanter and get past mobs I don't want to fight or split a spawn using these spells. I really do agree though that a necro is better at soloing. Darkness(snare), mana regen, hp regen, heals, feign death all are very powerful in the hands of a skilled player. Necros are also always a welcome addition in my groups.
