I'm looking for a group actually. Not questioning what to play. If anything, i'd prefer starting on vanilla content before moving to an expansion.

The best areas to start then are either in Greater Faydark (high elves/wood elves/half elves/dwarves/gnomes) and head to Crushbone for casual groups.
Or the EC area (human/half elves/dark elves/halflings) and group there, maybe at the orc camps
