I'd say get 2 trance sticks (someone will likely just give you one or two for free) then keep at the farming till you have 1k and buy a staff of battle.
Quivering will be better from 20-30 because of the lower delay, but SoB will last you to 50 when you could easily farm plat to buy an IFS/SoS/Ada Club.
