Solo both times, breaking charms and nuking down the two goblins to finish them off. I don't know if killing one or the other first makes a difference at that point; I didn't pay attention to whether I killed the ex-pet first or not.

I mean, I can't say for sure the scaling XP bonus was the problem. Bloodgills already seem screwy, since I remember testing the ZEM of LOIO with a level 1 iksar killing level 1 mobs by cabilis and seeing the ZEM was 75 (assuming the xp formula and such on the wiki is actually correct). But a ZEM of 75 means it should have taken me ~180 goblins to get through 45 (again, assuming the wiki's xp info is correct) without any xp bonus... and it only took 125 on blue and 130ish on red. Just saw this inconsistency that seemed significant enough that it almost certainly wasn't just RNG with what level goblins I killed over the course of all of 45 or something.
