They do when they burn. I know that for a fact living in an extreme fire danger zone. In fact I grew up in LA during the 70's, when you could hardly see your hand in front of your face because of the pollution. More so during Carters administration ehem, not today, and all the global warming end-of-teh-world a decade away crap.
