For what its worth, I went through the same shit when I got hacked and they merged my account. The result was that I had to email/fax them proof that I was the accountholder (copy of an ID) and that I owned the games. The customer service was most helpful and after I gave them the necessary info, they fixed it in no time - including my gear. But I was pretty fast and gave them a good approx time of when it happened ..
