I dunno... The multiple cops in Eric Garner's case using an illegal chokehold and sitting on his chest until he died is as over the line as it gets. He resisted but didn't physically attack them or go for a gun like in the Brown case. He didn't appear to me to be any kind of imminent threat once he was down. I think the grand jury made the wrong call here.
I read about and watch documentaries about true crime enough to know it takes a longer time than you'd think to strangle or suffocate someone to death. I believe it's like 3 to 4 minutes at the very least. Trying not to imagine what that must have been like for Eric Garner...

Chokehold isn't illegal. While it is banned by NYPD regulation it is legal under state law while making a lawful arrest. There was over 200,000 misdemeanor arrests in NYC in 2013 and how often do you see this happen? So much for the overzealous NYPD killing everyone right?
