Bug and "trick to the fight" aren't mutually exclusive.

Are you saying that he has a second "fake" AE cast or that it is the same cast that hits people in line of sight as well as those out of line of sight?

Like Alunova said, it doesn't make sense how the fake portion can be implemented in the current spell/line of sight implementation without major reworking of the code.
I'm pretty sure there were 2 AEs with the same name. One was "real" and could be blocked by LOS, the other ignored LOS and would hit clerics and appear to drain mana but as soon as you clicked an instant clicky it would disappear and your mana would return.

The "real" AE would overwrite the "fake" AE so if you had some mana loss from the fake AE and then got hit by the real AE that mana would be lost permanently, so it did add a bit of difficulty / required attention to what was going on during the fight.

Aaryonar felt pretty accurate, shrug. This server is more about classic accuracy than artificially inflating difficulty. I discussed my opinion on the accuracy of the actual encounter already, though.

Dozekar was gating when we did him recently, I'm sure that's still the case. Devs need to remove gate on a bunch of these mobs, and look into the weird aggro link associated with some mobs that creates unclassic pulling situations.

Zlandicar and Velketor also gate but I'm not sure if that's accurate or not because we always killed them on their spawn points on live.
