Great find!
It's likely that these sounds (foley effects) are not the property of Sony. Often times, film makers will pay an audio bank for permission to use a specific sound in their movie/show. I'm not sure exactly how this works for games, but I presume it is similar. Sometimes, audio editors include a certain audio byte as an inside joke to each other, see: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cdbYsoEasio

I have noticed a similar sound effect that is being used ubiquitously, and that is the "mining" sound fx from World of Warcraft.

I first noticed this sound in a scene from The Darjeeling Limited, when the train breaks down and the three brothers disembark to go walk up a hillside. The sound fx is being used to describe someone tapping at the rail track, BUT I KNOW WHAT IT REALLY IS.

THERE'S AN ORC MINING COPPER

I have also heard that same sound twice in the television show Vikings.
