Note that this bugfix was only for mages. Wizards never had this problem, and it was only on mage rain spells(orange spell gem), not target aoe spells like Pillar of Fire, Column of Lightning, Pillar of Lightning, Pillar of Flame et al.
Its a bug. Fix it.
