There are a few key assumptions one must make while playing on P1999. The sooner you understand this the better.
1) Everybody is against you. Everybody wants the best loot and they will do anything to get it. Your "friends" in your guild? They're using you to get loot. Other guilds? They want to cut you out of the running for loot completely.
2) The GMs say they are fair. Say. Always assume GMs will not be on your side regardless of the who is in the right. People will say/do absolutely anything to get what they want in P1999. Always assume morals do not exist.
3) All guilds are equal before GMs. Some are just more equal.
4) If you have better gear than another you are superior in every way. You are better looking IRL, have a bigger penis, make more money, and are more important/central to the story of EQ. All players must bow before you and acknowledge that you are simply superior.
5) Obtaining gear is a result of: a) time committed b) luck c) social manipulation
6) Unlike real life, you will be punished if you find a way to make cash fast.
7) Everybody has a wife/girlfriend/brother
8) You aren't here to have fun. You are here to work. This is serious shit.
