Itap hit the nail on the head. Unless on you decided on a colossal high that you wanted your Ranger to be the most Charismatic Bow-Stringer to ever walk Norrath, Velious gear will help you balance (nearly max) all your important stats.
It's my personal opinion that Stamina is wasteful on a Ranger, since 40-50 HP is not going to be the difference between life and death at higher levels. Wisdom is even preferable, since a last-minute snare or heal can save you better than a handful more hit points.
Strength and Dexterity are the focus. STR for improving attack rating/base damage and DEX for bow hits/proc rates.
That being said, I put plenty points into Wisdom since I rolled the somewhat dimwitted Half-Elf and I like to make pretend I'm a Druid. But I'm pretty much the opposite of a min/max'er. Which is why I'm playing a Ranger I suppose... =D
