As with all things of this nature I just assume it started with some idiot who couldn't spell "praise" correctly. Other people saw the misspelling and thought it was some cool slang because they didn't realize that it was just an idiot misspelling a word.
Then ,in a phenomenon all too common among the human race, people piled onto the bandwagon simply because others were and soon the original idiocy was ingrained in the collective consciousness of vast hordes of semi-sentient bipeds.
