Depends on what you would like to work towards.
You could go to EC and see if someone would help a newbie (don't be pushy, don't ask many times, maybe just do an /ooc and see if anyone would be willing to help a new player...the community is pretty helpful in general just don't be too aggressive).
if you want to earn it all yourself, upper guk has some good caster gear. Good cheap gear would be player made jewelcrafted gear.
