Honestly, I always liked humans for the fact that like all the old school monks I knew were humans. I started playing early Kunark so all iksar monks were relatively new and low level. Leveling up, whenever I had a question on gear or pulling or whatever, it was always human monks who were like the "uber" level 60s running around with their raid loot and stuff. Also, I was a human monk, so that played a part in it I'm sure. Guess when I think of a monk I always think of a human.
Also, people claim that iksars are better because of regen/ac, which technically is true. However, one thing I like about the monk class is that the class isn't all about gear and stats. Sure, having higher AC or more HP or whatever helps, but all the AC in the world isn't going to help someone who sucks at pulling. In the grand scheme of it, monks are all about knowing the class/game - the race someone chooses is really a minor factor when all is said and done.
