Going afk during repop time is NOT AFK camping. You can AFK during the repop time as much as you want without loosing the right to claim this camp. You claim this camp if you engage the spawning mobs shortly after they spawn and keep the spawn area down.
There is no requirement to respond to anyone realy, besides courtesy.
