I started rogue and didn't have any problems. To make up for the lack of gear I went barbarian and pumped strength/stamina. Being stuck grouping kind of reduces your ability to make plat, but if you choose your zones wisely (rabid animals in qeynos hills, whisps on kerra isle, HHK for ears and ore, etc.) you'll be able to make decent money. I think the most important aspect of leveling as a group dependent class is making tons of friends and keeping in contact with them whenever you see them online. Always be networking and you'll never be LFG for long.

What level is your rogue? I have a druid parked around level 15 to 17 (can't remember) that I've kind of wanted to play for a while. I know rogue/druid can be a pretty efficient combo if you want to group up some time.
