I had this problem too, could barely play anymore. Here's how I fixed:
1. Got a different chair. I'm 6'2" 225 and bought a big and tall chair. So much more room between the arms now... I realized before my arms couldn't even drop to my sides, they'd sit on the chair arms causing my neck muscles to stay scrunched up all the time.
2. Take half a xanax when u play. Lasts several hours for me and relaxes my whole body. Muscle relaxers make me way too sleepy but they could work too. This really only prevents the problem from getting worse though, doesn't fix it.
3. Exercise! Not popular but running a mile a day shakes loose all those tight muscles and is a natural relaxer afterwards. Takes 20-30 minutes a day and actually fixes the problem.
