Where did you spend the last years? The NSA has these kind of things and still failed to prevent a single attack. I wonder why despite these failures people still think more surveillance would bring better results. It might be a better idea to dissolve this entity and use the free budget to alleviate the lives of arabs.

Algorithms for analyzing data are constantly being developed and improved. We are a ways off yet from having the capabilities BigJap was describing. If we end up in an actual fight for our survival, and not just a series of small localized conflicts, then you'll see the fledgling multi-billion dollar AI industry expanded greatly by government funding.
