I'm just saying, if this was EQLive in 2000 and a Tranquil Staff dropped and he did the same thing, he wouldn't have been banned for it - the community needs to police itself and work things out together. In 2000, he would've been blacklisted and it would've been one of those 'oh well' things - what good is a monk that has a Tranquil staff and a tarnished reputation?

To be honest, I'm quite sad at what EQ has devolved into. You guys are more concerned about yourselves and that's not classic. The raid scene here is not classic. Something needs to be done.
If you look at the OPs profile you will see he joined in 2011. He is not new. Which means he knew better.

Your point about the GMs on live circa 2000 not getting involved is probably true, but what of it? One of the things many people hated about live was that bad deeds often went unpunished. In this situation the item was returned to its rightful owner and the offending party was given a 2 week time out. What's not to like about that?

Blaming the victim for not being more generous with a ninja looter and a liar makes no sense.
