Pretty much what Foxx said.
Rogues (Stealthers) aren't wanted in PvE very much, and in PvP / RvR, you won't be invited to groups. Stealthers are all about the 1v1 fights where you have to know a lot of the "tricks of the trade" in order to do well because there's some incredibly skilled stealth players who have a lot of experience. It's not my cup of tea, but some people really enjoy it.
Having said that, playing a stealther in battlegrounds (pre- level 50 RvR areas) is incredibly fun. The rogues get a backstab ability, but also a frontal "BS" called Perforate Artery, which is even stronger than a backstab, and can nearly, or completely 1 shot a weak caster enemy. It's very fulfilling. It can only be activated while stealthed though, so it can be hard to pull off.
