I think You kind of misunderstood. Because the project for sure will live on. It is the current servers that I was speaking of. They are already so top heavy and no more content coming. In fact content has actually been removed (the sleepers dragons). That it is inevitable the current servers are gonna die out. It is a matter of when not if.
Top it off with some 16 hour pull your hair out variance that I would wager if you took a legit in game poll would be voted down. I don't want big poop socks, and am not asking them to remove it. Just tone it down. It was ok in kunark but it is very over the top in Velious.
If it was not voted down (very unlikely) that would be because the casual guilds fail to realize a lesser variance would in turn give them more loot. (getting off the topic you mentioned sorry , But I will say my point on this subject in particular is very strong and being a veteran mmorpg gamer I have seen it all (well except virtual reality EQ or really any fantasy MMO VR. can you say ...YES PLEASE?)
Again not saying remove variance. just saying...
a lesser variance = more attempts at dragons for the casual p99 player. PERIOD.

I was just trying to maybe get them to take a 2nd glance and slow the death , rather than ignore the aforementioned and the end result would be the speeding of the death of the current p99 servers. They can very easily make new p99s and this stuff honestly (at least for me) would never get old. It is called Evercrack for a reason : )

I agree with what You said "red is dead", now some don't want to admit that.
Those that do not are the true hardcores mixed with people I mentioned above aka crazy. I think even the red players that are sane can agree with that. An why let Uthgaard and Camelot take and immerse these players in some real fun pvp (played daoc and EQ for years. They are both very fun , and the teams pvp of EQ classic era IMO was better than DAOC realm wars , but if u got a bunch of time spent on another server you are more likely to stay there.)

It is also more than likely that they will throw this out as an attack or rant when in reality it is just the truth and an attempt to greatly slow the death of what we currently have.
This is not an attack and is in fact the exact opposite. I am calling for a Defense.
