Looooooooots of hand me down gear gets passed around. I personally have given away easily over 100 items that I acquired while lvling to random guildies and I know others have done as much or more. Nothing super crazy good but just watch guildchat and people are giving away scraps all the time

Solo xp is definitely not great. I'm not 100% sure this is how it works but I've been told you basically get the same amount of xp whether you solo a mob or kill it with 6 ppl so grouping is heavily encouraged. I honestly think this is a GREAT thing though. Grouping is what EQ is all about it's an MMO. Having the ability to solo when you have to is cool but grouping should always be preferred and that's the way it is on Phinny. I main a Necro and I honestly don't think I solo'd an entire level the whole time I was lvling 1-60. I'll tell you in my personal opinion it's WAY more refreshing seeing all these great xp camps filled with 6 man groups rather than a shm/mnk or enc/clr duo or some twink soloing a camp to themselves. The amount of solo/duo that happens on P99 is unlike anything I ever saw in my years of playing live EQ. I don't miss it.
