yeah pet steals half xp if it does more than half damage. Gotta change up your charming strat a bit.
Basic strat is - Charm mob 1, attack mob 2. Root mob 2. compare health of both mobs while they duke it out. Keep 2 rooted so if charm breaks on 1 they don't both bum rush you. Ideally they beat each other down fairly evenly. When mob 1 or 2 gets to 15%ish HP, either use invis on yourself, or taper enchantment on the charmed mob to break charm. Then nuke them both down. By dropping the pet at the end, the damage it did no longer counts towards stealing xp. So you get full xp for both mobs. yay!
Lots of good guides here on the forums that are way more in depth than my little paragraph. Do some forum searching and edjumicate yourself. Lots of different strats, lots of different camps.
