I want to get No man's sky. I love exploration. Just watching people play has been fun for me. I know its got all the depth of a spoonful of water, but for just the visuals and music - the ambience, it would be worth it for me.

I played NMS for 5ish hours. The exploration factor wears off pretty quick unfortunately. By the time you finish the tutorial and visit your 2nd planet cluster (the universe has only a single star and planet clusters instead of solar systems, wtf?), you see the seams in the matrix. It has a lot of anti-physics that I found annoying. And it was horribly buggy on ps4 for me (including many crashes). While the procedurally generated planet ecosystems and enormity of the universe are interesting (from a technical perspective mostly), the planets' points of interest aren't after a few hours.
Kerbel's Space Program might be up your alley if you like trekkie exploration.
