Always grosses me out when I read facts about food production: millions of pounds of cheese in cold storage millions of tons of beef processed annually, etc. Think about that last one. For me it's the worst thing in the world. Not necessarily the insane slaughter itself but the combination of that with the fact that it's so widespread, so vile (in a lot of cases), illegal but tolerated, immoral but legal, so unnecessary and so strongly defended and rationalized. Those last two are key for making it the worst thing in the world for me. There isn't a single issue in the world that includes such a high degree of suffering and such a large degree of suffering that has more people defending it than attacking it. You're abnormal for abstaining from a holocaust and often treated 'accordingly'. It's sick.
