Legend has it a great blueberry flavored bard joined the strongest adventuring force on P99, Awakened. He pledged his fealty and made a commitment to ridding Norrath of it's most dangerous and harrowing dragons.

TLDR: Bard is a good starting class, gear isn't that important.
