what you call "the internet" is a set of protocols that allow different networks to be connected. Funny how all these networks all owned by private companies just agree to freely give access to their infrastructure so that the internet can route through their stuff ? that's the heart of internet. these protocols are not owned by anybody, they're all open sourced, no one pays anything to anyone to use them. All the servers are run on GNU/linux, you think it's owned by finland ..?
