Sense / Disarm Traps
Incoming anecdotal discussion thread. (I'll see if I can find some evidence later)
I don't think Disarm Traps is working correctly on P99. Specifically, I very often get a "Too far away" message on P99, when it seemed on Live that you could disarm any trap that was close enough to sense - unless you moved farther away after sensing it.
I did a lot of work getting raids past traps in DN and Ssra Temple, and this is what I remember:
When you hit your Sense Traps skill, you would "target" the nearest trap that was in range of the skill (unless fail). I put "target" in "quotes" because it doesn't show up in your target window or anything. Once you've "targeted" a specific trap, that was the trap that your Disarm Traps skill would attempt to affect as long as you were in range, or until you sensed (and thus "targeted") a NEW trap, or failed the skill check (this may or may not clear your "trap target", I don't recall).
In practice: As an experienced trap master, you know roughly where and precisely how numerous the traps are in a given area that must be traversed. You creep into range, and Sense Traps until you "get it". You can immediately Disarm it (or fail). Subsequent successful skill checks of the Disarm Trap skill will keep the trap from triggering for some period of time.
When there are multiple traps in one area, you can either put a rogue on each of them, or have one rogue cover multiple traps. Outside one of the boss rooms in Ssra Temple, for example, there were 3 traps. One time, I led 2 other rogues in and we each positioned ourselves to "target" each of the traps. Then we could just spam the Disarm button while the raid moved through safely. Another time, I kept all 3 traps down myself. I would "target" and Disarm them each in turn by moving close enough to them before using Sense Traps again.

I think most of this is working on P99, except for the range to disarm. To use arbitrary numbers, I'd say that an example trap would have a Sense range of 100, a Disarm range of 100, and a Trigger range of 50. I never had a scenario where I could sense a trap but be too far away to disarm it. I realize this doesn't make a lot of sense, but this is EverQuest after all.
On P99, in order to disarm a trap, you have to have a much better idea of its precise location, otherwise you move toward it in tiny increments until you are close enough to disarm but have not yet triggered it. On Live, it was easy as long as you knew the general vicinity.
Disclaimer: None of this applies to the traps in Sol A and Sol B - I do remember that you had to just click those to stop them. I don't even think the Disarm hotkey would do anything, but it still checked/increased the Disarm skill when you mouseclicked the object.
