nice! enc is great first toon here, levels quickly, and isn't as dependent on gear and other people to do so. above guide is good

you can go adventure anywhere and solo, or better yet organize groups to venture into underpopulated zones were you can endlessly and constantly be farming uncontested xp

HIE max points in CHA, the rest in sta or int. early gearing is a game of maxing cha like one of those tiny plastic tile piece puzzles - you move one thing, have to move others around. also worth noting DE gets hide

dont get hung up on plat farming and cash camps at the expense of XP. time is the real currency in EQ, and levels/a more powerful char can be more rewarding. Gear will come more quickly at higher levels when you access to greater riches and challenges.

once your leveled you can park your enc where your hybrid alt is hunting to buff your party members! Enc is very strong in Velious, and broken OP in kunark. enc also has a very strong role in raids if you want to get involved
