I have very vivid memories of fighting the west boss mob in his room, getting unlucky on breaks and stepping on the pad to zone in in order to facilitate CR, and dieing to the said boss mob at zone in who followed me through the pad. I trained him through the pad.
I also used the pads a few times with charmed pets and had various results - sometimes they would gently follow through, sometimes they would path all the way back (maybe through the trap to the basement then the pad?) and bring a fun train full of assrape.
I can't count how many times I had a dotted sperm or a goo in the basement that broke root at low hp and started fleeing through the central pad, sometimes warping up and aggroing stuff up there, sometimes just passing through the pad like it's nothing.
